CIB will be hosting a Fund Managers Insurance Update Breakfast at 8am on Thursday 19 April in the Colborne Room, OGH.
The introduction will be by Ben Kirk, Chartered Insurance Broker and Commercial Director at CIB. Topics covered will include corporate manslaughter, professional & cyber exposures.
Speakers will include Brian Bendle and Michael Smith, both brokers from Lonsdale with a wealth of knowledge .
Brian Bendle, Broker at Lonsdale
Brian began his insurance career at Lloyd’s of London in 1979 as a broker. With the rapid growth of Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability insurance in the 1980’s, he quickly became recognised as one of the leading authorities on the placement and structuring of D&O and Professional Liability programmes for UK and international clients.
Brian has sat on a number of trade bodies and was an advisor to the Financial Services Authority at their formation in 2005.
His particular specialism is the placement of insurance for offshore structures and he has been assisting Channel Insurance Brokers with the insurance needs of its clients, particularly in Guernsey, for the last 20 years.
Michael Smith, Broker at Lonsdale
Michael Smith has enjoyed a varied career in Insurance. Starting out as a regional motor broker, moving into Property Broking and Underwriting and eventually finding his way in to the Lloyd’s of London Market broking where he now specialises in Professional Indemnity and Cyber/Tech Insurance.
Michael’s daily face to face contact with Insurers ensures that he is constantly kept up to date with the constantly changing Cyber Insurance landscape which helps him to place suitable cover for each individual Client to meet their own needs.
